Wilmington musical legend and Walk of Fame inductee Grenoldo Frazier is recovering from open heart surgery. Local musicians and friends gathered to show him Love and Support in a Benefit Concert, on Sunday, September 28, 3-7 p.m, at Delphina Dos (formerly Water Street Restaurant). Everyone was heartily participating in the celebration of his life and music, and it was an unforgettable venue, where the “melting pot” and diversity did really something…EMCEE for the event was George Schiebner of WHQR, and the event was organized and presented by the North Carolina Jazz Festival, with the assistance of the Cape Fear Jazz Society and Mr. Harper Peterson.
For those who want to contribute but couln’d attend the concert, checks can be sent to the North Carolina Jazz Festival as the fiscal agent. The address is NCJF, P.O. Box 7681, Wilmington, NC 28406. The checks should be made out to Grenoldo Frazier Benefit/NCJF, thus eligible to be used as a tax deduction since NCJF has the 501-C tax status. This is according to Mrs. Sandy Evans.
